DOWN THE COLCA, is a rafting outing through one of the deepest river canyons in the world? The Colca rises from the high Andes where Inca kings once sacrificed children to the mountains. But we raft through the deserts of southern Peru. The weather is always sunny and the water is surprisingly warm. Days are filled with whitewater excitement and nights are spent listening to indigenous music and discussing the history and mystery of Peru and South America.

There are petroglyphs on the canyon walls along the way and it is rumored that gold, stolen by the Spanish, lies hidden in the remote, dark corners of the canyon. This trip is for those with previous rafting experience or the athletic beginner. The river can run as high as a class 5. All rafting gear can be provided. Do you want to see ancient markings, experience soaring condors, and feel desert winds and the tug of a wild river? Come with us. Trips depart in April and May. Group size is limited to ten per trip.
